Very tropical; a ‘Rope’ hammock from Tropilex
Relax in the Tropilex ‘Rope’ hammock, and enjoy the unique experience of a gentle breeze blowing over your back! A knotted rope hammock has a big advantage over a woven hammock: it keeps you nice and cool, even when the mercury soars.
The spreader bars are made from upmarket Shorea wood (100% FSC).
The ‘Rope’ hammock fits perfectly in Tropilex family hammock stands.
Knotted with double ropes
Mexican hammocks are normally braided with hundreds of thin pieces of rope, but Tropilex uses thicker pieces, which make the hammock much stronger and more durable.
Incidentally, these ‘Rope’ hammocks are extra resilient, as unlike other hammocks which use 1 rope, Tropilex hammocks are braided with 2 ropes. This makes Tropliex ‘Rope’ hammocks up to 40% stronger than comparable hammocks.
The ‘Rope’ hammock isn’t knotted, but braided, which makes it even more comfortable!
Made from recycled plastic bottles
Waste is a major problem in India, so it’s great to know that our ‘Rope’ hammocks are made from recycled plastic bottles, without the product losing out in quality or comfort in any way!
‘Rope’ hammocks are therefore made of polyester, but a unique weaving technique makes this material feel amazingly soft. Even softer than cotton, in fact!
Made with love and care in India
Although some products are made in Colombia, Tropilex also works with a specially selected factory in India. This factory is run by people who strongly believe in the empowerment of women and promoting job opportunities for women in both urban areas and the countryside. Two rural villages have been adopted as a result of this fantastic vision, and jobs provided for 60 local women.
Tropilex pays a fair price for its hammocks and monitors the working conditions, helping this growing development region to prosper with every hammock purchased.
